Hemp (Cannabis Sativa) is one of the oldest crops in Europe.
In the past, it was an important raw material for fabrics, but today it is grown for us by Saarland farmers primarily to make our delicious and hemp seed oil with its high nutrient content.
Once the oil has been gently cold-pressed, the remaining solids, known as press cake, still contain many vital vitamins, minerals, fibre
and also unsaturated fatty acids, including the rare gamma-linolenic acid. It is also a great source of plant-based proteins, which play an important part in vegetarian and vegan diets. Legal consumption of hemp is generally thought to be beneficial.
