Our pasta made from the flour of the camelina plant (Camelina Sativa) is a world-first. It has a characteristic and unique flavour, with a hint of white cabbage because of its close relation to the Brassicaceae family. Camelina was a popular oilseed crop as far back as Celtic and Roman times.
Today, camelina is grown for us, either on its own or together with lentils, on a number of fields in the Saarland region, and attracts many honey and bumble bees.
Once the plants have been harvested, we make the popular ‘oil of the Celts’ and other products from it. It is worth mentioning that camelina is very rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
